First things first--have you seen the commercials with the guy that is mayhem for the insurance company?  The last commercial he is in with him being the guard dog and the guys robbing the house is just too funny to me.  The best part is at the end when he walks outside and gets zapped by the shock collar he has on.  I laugh my butt off every time I see it.  I guess its because we have a shock collar for our dog and it didn't do any good with her either!
Yesterday I finished cleaning all my jewelry so its nice and shinny.  That's one of those things I have to feel like doing because it does take time.  If its an icky day out, there is nothing to look at out the kitchen window but mud, rain, fog and dirty cows.  The day after it rains is always better for looking out the kitchen window while I'm scrubbing away at tarnish.  The cows are laying down in the afternoon taking a nap, just relaxing in the sun--its peaceful to watch.  If you have never really looked at a cows face you should.  Their eyes are beautiful and they each have a different hairdo--too cute!
And--summer is right around the corner.  The birds are singing, the sun is coming up and I need one more cup of coffee to get me going.  Tons of stuff to do today.  I'm going to Marquette Michigan on Friday so I have to make my "to do" list and start checking things off today.  Pack my suitcase, pack my car, do laundry--you know--stuff!
Well, I'm off--have a wonderful day! ]]><![CDATA[Summer Schedule]]>Mon, 07 May 2012 04:57:37 -0800http://queenbeebeadsetc.com/1/post/2012/05/summer-schedule.htmlAlmost all the places I have applied to for summer shows have responded.  Just a few more to go and we are ready to hit the road--yahoo!  There are a few schedule changes due to a slight calender error by me again.  My granddaughters have to help out for a few weekends this summer but they get room and board so they can't complain too much.  I guess I'll have to feed them too!  Sometimes I make my family work a little harder but it builds character!   ]]><![CDATA[Cleaning Copper Cuffs]]>Thu, 03 May 2012 14:26:17 -0800http://queenbeebeadsetc.com/1/post/2012/05/cleaning-copper-cuffs.htmlToday I'm working in the kitchen cleaning some of my copper jewelry.  Copper is the easiest to clean--I use ketchup!  No kidding!  I put a blob on a small plate and dip an old soft toothbrush in it and lightly scrub the copper with the toothbrush.  After I rinse the ketchup I use a drop or two of Dawn dish soap to clean all the ketchup off and rinse really good.  Then dry with a soft cloth and leave the jewelry sit out over night to sure its dry.  The next day just put the piece in a ziplock baggie to keep it shiny until its show time.  Cheap and easy--gotta love it!

Moms are special so here is the little something for mom that she doesn't have to wear.  It is wire wrapped in copper with a little 4mm crystal and has its own little stand so it can go on a shelf for mom to always see.  These will go out for sale this coming Saturday at the Fond du Lac, WI show at the fairgrounds from 9-3.    
]]><![CDATA[Sunday Morning In My Queendom--Earring Update]]>Sun, 22 Apr 2012 05:33:18 -0800http://queenbeebeadsetc.com/1/post/2012/04/sunday-morning-in-my-queendom9.htmlOh my gosh the coffee tastes good this morning.  The birds are singing, the sun is coming up, the furnace is working for our 35 degree weather, the house is quiet, the outside is quiet and I'm really enjoying the morning.  My husband is not a morning person so he is all tucked in his "blanket cocoon" making the "man noises".  The dog is in her favorite spot doing the morning stretch and sounding like a cow mooing--too funny!  I'm just happy with my coffee and listening to the quiet.
Worked my fingers to the bone this week making earrings--and I was supposed to be resting my hands!  Oh well--the show must go on.
I've done a lot of wire wrapping this week and I can feel a muscle in my arm getting tight but I'm not done yet so I ignore it.  I put such focus into what I'm doing I forget to move around and next thing you know--pain to remind me to move.
I had "brain lock" for about a month so my creative juices weren't flowing properly--now I'm in overdrive.  My brain works so fast and my body can't keep up--time to realign my chi!  When this happens I go for lots of walks and toss around wood to work off some of the nervous energy so I can function like a normal human being.  Now I have to start setting a timer because I've pushed myself too far--again!  When will I ever learn!
The results of beating myself up a little are below.  I'll be at the Superior Dome in Marquette Michigan for Mother's Day Weekend--come see me!

]]><![CDATA[Table Display Dilemma]]>Sat, 21 Apr 2012 06:12:30 -0800http://queenbeebeadsetc.com/1/post/2012/04/table-display-dilemma.htmlThere are so many types of displays for jewelry that it is hard to choose which ones are right for my outside setup.  I've tried a dozen different kinds and they all have one flaw--no weight to the base so they fall over in the wind or blow completely off the table right in the nearest mud puddle.  This has been bugging me for a few years now so I've been working on my solution and I think I may have my problem solved--at least a step in the right direction.  That is one more thing I can check off my "problem" list.
